Lumi Pro · Textile RIP software

From design file to fabric, without the guesswork.

Lumi Pro is a production RIP engine for digital textile printing. It separates your artwork into real ink channels, screens it, checks every job before it reaches the head, and streams it straight to your printer.

What's inside

Everything between the design and the print head

Lumi Pro was written from scratch in C for one job: getting textile artwork onto fabric accurately and without wasted metres. It pairs a graphical studio with a scriptable command-line engine that share the same settings and print queue.

Colour & ink control

ICC profile transforms with all four rendering intents, GCR/UCR separation and total-ink limiting per fabric, so heavy prints don't bleed or cockle.

18 screening modes

Error diffusion, ordered and clustered-dot halftoning, plus hybrid and edge-aware modes. Leave it on Auto and Lumi Pro picks the best one for the image.

Step & repeat

Build seamless rapports straight from a single tile — straight, half-drop, half-brick or mirrored — and auto-fill the full roll width.

1-click nesting

Pack several designs onto one roll automatically. Lumi Pro shows the packed length, efficiency and waste in m² before you print a single metre.

Pre-flight & verification

Live checks before the RIP, and a structural check after it — resolution, pass count, media width and data integrity are verified before anything is sent.

Calibration lab

Print targets, measure patches, build linearization curves and verify with ΔE. Spectrophotometers are detected automatically over USB.

Hot folder & queue

Drop files into a watched folder and they're ripped and queued automatically. The GUI and CLI share one queue, so scripts and operators never collide.

Fabric presets

Save resolution, pass count, ink limit, screening and direction as one named preset per fabric, and switch between them in one click.

Shop-floor diagnostics

Nozzle checks, bi-directional alignment combs and feed rulers are built in, alongside port and driver diagnostics for when a machine misbehaves.

Beyond CMYK

Real 8-colour separation for textile inks

Textile inks don't behave like paper inks. Lumi Pro converts the overlaps in your artwork into dedicated Blue, Red and Orange channels, and uses Grey ink for the light part of the black ramp — for cleaner saturated colours and smoother neutrals on fabric.

  • Gamut expansion — Blue from cyan + magenta, Red and Orange from magenta + yellow, each tunable.
  • Light-ink splitting — smooth handover from light to dark inks for 6- and 8-channel setups.
  • Per-machine ink maps — channel mix and gain live in a plain config file you can tune on site.

Workflow

Five steps, one screen

The same pipeline runs whether an operator clicks through the studio, a file lands in the hot folder, or a script calls the CLI.

01

Load

TIFF (incl. BigTIFF), PNG, BMP or JPEG, with embedded ICC profiles.

02

Lay out

Pick a fabric preset, then repeat or nest designs across the roll.

03

Separate

Colour-manage, ink-limit and split into the printer's ink channels.

04

Verify

Pre-flight and post-RIP checks catch problems before ink is spent.

Printers & connectivity

Proven on our own machines first

Every feature is tested on the printers in our studio before it ships. Lumi Pro also carries profiles for 30+ industrial textile and sublimation printers, with drivers for Mimaki, Epson and Hoson/BYHX boardsets.

FAQ

Common questions

What is RIP software, and why does textile printing need one?

A RIP (raster image processor) turns a design file into the exact dot pattern each print head fires. For textiles it also handles ink limits per fabric, extra ink channels like Blue, Red and Orange, and repeat patterns — things a normal printer driver can't do.

Which printers does Lumi Pro support?

Lumi Pro runs in daily production on the Mimaki TX2-1600 over FireWire. It includes profiles for 30+ textile and sublimation printers from Mimaki, Epson, Monna Lisa, Roland, Mutoh, EFI Reggiani, Atexco and others, which we're validating machine by machine. Tell us your model and we'll let you know where it stands.

What computer do I need?

A 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC. Lumi Pro is a native application with no runtime to install. It connects to printers over Ethernet (TCP/IP port 9100) or an IEEE 1394 FireWire card.

Can I try it before buying?

Yes. We're onboarding a small group of print shops with trial licences ahead of launch. Email or WhatsApp us with your printer model and what you print.

Do you also print fabric for customers?

Yes. Our Bangalore studio does custom digital textile and Zari printing at ₹200–300 per metre, on your fabric or ours, from your artwork or our collections. Online ordering is coming soon; until then, message us directly.
